AterGens is a Combination of the Latin work for Dark, usually the darkest and the word Family.
So Ater +Gens.
AterGens was a small guild created in early 2006 on the Gustin Server in Lineage 2 when I accidentally broke a weapon down into crystals. When you tried to enchant weapons in Lineage 2 over level 12 you will get larger and larger bonus’s, you would risk breaking the weapon down into crystals. Previously I had been in Power-Source and created my own guild to do something different.
We rose to fame when a group of guilds decided to declare war on us. A Friend Dezdemonda allowed us to post on a fan forum site saying we would not stand by and pay ransom and ask for members on the server to help us by telling us when members of these warring clans show them selves.
Over the course of several months we warred multiple times with kewIaid and other guilds that worked with them. Some days it was the best ever, with us stopping the players in that guild from gaining experience. Some days we had to log off as they had too much support. In the end they dropped thier clan tags and left for other guilds.
Our second highlight was owning a Castle. Several high level characters we made friends with came and helped us conquer the castle. Some of the larger guilds on the server did not like how this was done, so one month later a group of the largest guilds came and removed us from the castle.
I believe we continued the guild in Lineage 2 until 2010 or 2011 when most of the members started leaving to play other games. We used AterGens in quite a few games. Rift, FFXIV, and GW2 to name a few. The Name never really stuck or worked as well as it did in Lineage 2. Now a days the name is retired, but the site is reused for future Guilds. One day maybe AterGens will get reused.
